Law and Society Lab

The Law and Society Lab (LSL) is an interdisciplinary group of researchers at the Department of Legal Theory at MU Law School and The Psychology Research Institute at MU Faculty of Social Studies. Its members share an interest in studying law in its social embeddedness considering law's political, aesthetic and psycholinguistic aspects. LSL desires to shake up the orthodoxy of Czech legal scholarship which is predominantly normativist. By employing contemporary methods of critical realism and methodological naturalism in combination with various strands of critical theory and by mediating the discourse for foreign and local scholars, LSL aims to encourage socio-legal research and education in the Czech legal context.
